New ParagraphSexual Harassment:    Un-welcomed sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature, when submission or rejection of such conduct is used as the basis for employment decisions, or when the conduct has the purpose or effect of creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.


A.     Reporting Complaints:  Any employee desiring to report an incident of harassment should report the incident with five (5) working days of the occurrence. The complaint may be presented by the complainant in written or verbal form. In any event, the complaint should be recorded in writing by the Chief Deputy. A complaint will include:

1)     Complainant’s name, position, division, and department.

2)     Accused name, position, division, and department.

3)     A description of the incident(s) including dates/times of occurrence and witnesses.


B.     Complaints are to be filed directly with the Chief Deputy who will in turn notify appropriate departmental staff and the marshal. Complaints against the Chief Deputy should be filed with the marshal.


C.     Any supervisor or department head who becomes aware of harassment anywhere within the marshal’s administration shall promptly report the facts to the Chief Deputy



D.     Administrative Inquiry

1)     Upon receipt of complaint the Chief Deputy shall have five (5) working days to conduct an administrative inquiry.

2)     At the conclusion of the inquiry, the Chief Deputy shall review results and recommendations with all appropriate parties including the complainant, and department head.

3)     Confidential records of the inquiry shall be maintained by the Chief Deputy.
